End seal mechanism on flow wrapping machines

1) Adjustment of the end seal knife holder and cutting knife

If you really need to adjust the knife seat, first use two sheets of white paper in the middle of the copy paper to observe the indentation pattern, if the indentation is even and the pattern is clear, the knife seat position is correct, no need to adjust, otherwise the knife seat needs to be adjusted, first loosen (do not completely loose) the knife seat on the M10 screw, and then adjust the lateral adjustment screw to correct the knife seat of the editorial shift Then adjust the lateral adjusting screw to correct the knife holder shift until the adjustment is satisfactory, and then tighten the M10 screw. Adjustment of the tool holder must be carried out without heating.

The cutter is generally adjusted by means of a copper pad. The guideline for adjustment is to just cut the paper film and the sound of engagement is not too loud. If no adjustment is possible, the cutter must be replaced. When adjusting the cutter, it must be heated (approx. 120℃).

2) Adjustment of the height position of the end seal tool holder

For different heights of packaged products, the height of the end seal knife frame should be adjusted so that the centre of engagement of the end seal knife is the same as the centre of the packaged product, as shown in Figure 4 and 5. The adjustment method is: first loosen the four screws on the side plate of the knife frame, then adjust the end seal lifting adjustment bolts (middle bolts) so that the upper and lower end seal knives engage at a height of 1/2 package from the working plane, after adjustment, make sure to tighten the four screws loosened before starting the machine.

3) Adjustment of end sealer speed

For different lengths of packaging, end seal knife speed should be adjusted accordingly, the principle of adjustment is to end seal knife line speed should be the same as the speed of the packaging film, that is, the cutter cut paper and do not accumulate paper and do not pull the paper as appropriate. If the accumulation of paper, that is, the knife speed is slow, should be adjusted to the fast direction; end seal knife speed adjustment hand wheel, if pulling paper, that is, the knife speed is fast, should be adjusted to the slow direction; end seal knife speed adjustment hand wheel; until synchronization.

4) Adjustment of the cutting position of the end seal knife

The synchronisation relationship between the feed pusher and the end seal knife of this machine will vary depending on the packaging length. To adjust the synchronous relationship between the feed push finger and the end seal knife, the adjustment steps are as follows:

(i) In the case of packaging films with coloured labels

(1) When the bag is empty, set the value of “cut-off position” by selecting the “parameter setting” setting screen on the man-machine interface to adjust the cut-off position of the end seal knife (see section 5.1 for setting method) so that the cut-off is at the colour code.

(2) Take 3 to 5 packages and put them between the push fingers of the feeding mechanism, start the machine and stop when the packages are fed to 100mm before the end seal.

(3) Check that the packaging is in the middle of the two colour codes and observe to remember the direction of offset and the amount of offset.

(4) Remove the packaging and adjust the position of the push finger by using the “push finger position adjustment handwheel” (the rotating handwheel needs to be pushed inwards and then rotated).

(5) Repeat steps 2 to 4 until the package is in the middle of the two colour codes.

(ii) In the case of packaging films without printed colour coding

(1) Take 3 to 5 packages and put them between the push fingers of the feeding mechanism, start the machine and stop when the packages are fed to 100mm before the end seal.

(2) Visually determine whether the end seal is positioned in the middle of the two packages and memorise the direction and amount of the braid shift.

(3) Remove the packaging and adjust the position of the push finger by using the “push finger position adjustment handwheel” (the rotating handwheel needs to be pushed inwards and then rotated).

(4) Repeat steps 1 to 3 until the packet is in the middle of the two end seals.
